Tamara Tarasiewicz was born in 1950 in Hajnówka, Poland. She began painting in 1988.
From 1994 to 1997, she successfully ran a private gallery in Białowieża.
In 1991, she applied for membership in the Polish Association of Artists and Painters (PZAP). The referring member, M. Anto, remarked, "I see an astonishing talent for color in her works." Meanwhile, M. Wołkowycki noted, "The explosion of creativity in her paintings is a pure phenomenon of human possibilities," adding, "admitting her as a member would bring us the honor of nurturing such an extraordinary talent." Unfortunately, her application was not accepted by the PZAP, hindering her from showcasing her art professionally in Polish galleries.
As a result, in 1997, she emigrated to the United States. Bill Greiner, an art professor, discovered her talent and wrote, "Tamara – Your work is excellent… Your painting without drawing and planning is so beautiful. May you find success in the United States." Soon, her art gained recognition among the American public and art decision-makers.
She has held approximately 130 exhibitions in many countries worldwide. Among the most significant are her 13 exhibitions in prestigious Manhattan galleries, including the Borough President's Gallery.
Her biography has been nominated for inclusion in numerous encyclopedias, including "Who's Who in American Art." She has been awarded by the American government for her significant contribution to American culture. Her works have been published in several editions of the "New Art International" album by Book Art Press in New York. She has been nominated in books on contemporary art published in London in various categories, including: 1) contemporary painting masters, 2) painters setting contemporary trends, and 3) creative genius. Many New York critics, including William Zimmer of "The New York Times," have written about her painting. She is a member of many American art associations, including the prestigious American Society of Contemporary Arts and the National Association of Women Artists, both based in New York. She has been nominated for membership in globally significant cultural institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. Some of her exhibitions have been featured on American television and in the press. An exhibition of her works organized by the Northern Indiana Arts Association was viewed by approximately 10,000 people from many states, according to official calculations. "The Times" selected her exhibition as the top cultural event in the region in 2001. Her works have been judged in numerous national and international exhibitions and have received awards at world art biennials.
In 2007, she was awarded by the American Association of Contemporary Artists in New York for her achievements in painting. Her paintings were selected for world art fairs in Chicago, Miami, San Diego, and New York from 2010 to 2023. At the New York art fair in 2022, she was honored with the Director's Award.
In 2010-2011, her paintings were exhibited at the International Contemporary Masters Exhibition at the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Arts in Las Vegas, USA.
In 2023, her works were showcased at numerous prestigious international exhibitions and art fairs, including the Tokyo Tower Art Fair, Red Dot-Spectrum Miami Art Fair, Chicago Art Fair, San Diego Art Fair, and Artexpo New York.
In the same year, her works were also displayed at exhibitions in Milan, San Remo, Florence, Venice, and Washington, D.C.

From 1998 to 2002, she ran two private galleries, "Tamara’s" and "Tamy’s Gallery," in Chicago. Her works are in private collections in over 30 countries.

Internationally recognized as a famous modernist of the late twentieth century, her name, Tamara, has been listed alongside Tamara de Lempicka as one of the four most famous women with that name globally. In 2009, the NY Magazine Annual Catalogue selected her as the top standout painter in the world. Since 2014, she has run a private gallery and museum, the Tamara Tarasiewicz Museum, in Białowieża, regarded by Western journalists from "The First News" as the most eccentric museum in Poland.
