Izzy Touchstone is a young Atlanta artist with a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Painting (2015). She also freelances in graphic design for major companies such as Valpak of Atlanta since 2006. However, Izzy prefers the traditional arts and wants to expand her abilities in as many mediums as possible.
Her most recent paintings are about the memories of mental and physical pain, which she reveals with scrapings, wild brush strokes and dilutions of chemical solutions. This process is how she best connects to the piece, and in turn, connects to the viewers as they see the physicality within it.

This collection of work pulls from aspects of the past where pain and memory affect the body and mind. The idea of regret and consequence correlates with my process of the removal and recovery in the paintings. In that sense, like the past the image never leaves.
