In my many years of working for airlines and traveling the world, nothing has given me a desire to capture its beauty, as has Arizona. I have traveled to over 100 countries during my career, and although they were diverse and offered abundant beauty, none offered the inspiration I felt soon after our move to the desert. The incredible beauty of the dawn, the storms, the mountains at sunset and the desert’s profound beauty are, at the least, awe-inspiring and forced me to become totally aware of the world around me.

I began to paint in 2001, concentrating on landscapes. I was amazed that I was so immersed in painting that 6 hours later I had not stopped, or moved from my easel. The pleasure and serenity I find while painting has continued. I enjoy challenging myself with new subjects, techniques & mediums. As time passed, I have expanded into Acrylics, Collage, and Mixed Media. I now find that I am intrigued by all subjects & forms; flowers, animals, people, scenery, design, buildings and, especially, abstraction.

I have participated in numerous juried shows in the area and, in June, I joined Desert Artisans Gallery in Tucson. I am an active member at the Tubac Center for the Arts, the Santa Rita Art League in Green Valley, a signature member of the Contemporary Artist of So. Arizona, the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild & the Community Performance & Art Center in Green Valley. I participate in most of the shows sponsored by these organizations. I look forward to many more years of creating art. I know my skills will continue to improve, as I devote more and more time to my passion. My painting “Glacial Flow” 36” x 36” was inspired by my love of the natural world and my concern about the glacial melt in so many regions of the earth. I tried to convey the seriousness of the problem with beauty and serenity. I believe there is enough excitement in the composition to successfully move your eye around the painting and keep you involved.

My work is currently on display at Desert Artisans Gallery on Tanque Verde in Tucson & Tubac Center of the Arts. September 26th – October 15th, my solo show “Color Rocks” will be at the West Social Center ,1111 Via Arco Iris in Green Valley. Reception is Sept. 28th, from 4 – 7 PM. Everyone is welcome.
