Marina Villani is an Australian Glass Artist with 13 years experience in glass Kiln-forming and glass mosaics.
A Venetian interlude in 1997 was Marina’s awakening to the world of glass and its many possibilities. On her return to Australia she undertook courses in Glass Mosaics and subsequently Glass Kiln-forming so that her work is at times a melding of the two glass-working techniques. Now, from her studio in Kilmore, Victoria she designs and produces an innovative range of glass-art and jewellery.
Apart from the commissions and exhibition & gallery pieces created there, the Kilmore studio is also a flexible workspace where students come from around Australia to participate in workshops and tourist buses stop for studio tours and demonstrations.
Marina has contributed several articles for the “Ceramic, Glassware and Pottery Australia” magazine and has had images of her works published in the American publication, “Mosaic Art”, a mosaic yearbook featuring mosaic artists from around the world.
A registered teacher, Marina also teaches at Glasscraft Australia and is a regular supplier to boutique galleries in the Melbourne area and surrounds.
