Marilena Memmi

Location: Italy

Marilena Memmi, born in Casarano on August 19, 1969, daughter of a well-known furniture and antiques dealer, develops as a child a propensity for art in all her expressions. Since then, self-taught, after a period spent at the Casarano master school, he decides to undertake independent studies, focusing on his intellectual abilities and knowledge gained by his father, a great lover of art and history. He is experimenting with more and more new techniques both in the restoration of works of various genres, in leafy gold plating and also in pictorial creations and more. The love for the drawing leads her to practice continually watching and admiring the pillars of the past: Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Titian, Caravaggio and many others, to arrive at the impressionist and surreal artists of metaphysics for whom it develops an attraction particular.
Human nature is at the center of its creations with its psychology and philosophical puzzles, with an eye to the divine and the unknown that have always fascinated her.
Deeply tied to his father undergoes premature loss on April 22, 2009, continuing his artist career and further strengthening him in memory of his memory, always alive and grateful for his love and his teachings.
"What I have to do to him."

His art is based on mixtures of various materials and techniques by experimenting with new forms of expression that reflect his way of being. Pencils, powders, pigments combine with each other and finally a hand-molded pasta decorated with gold leaf, silver and bronze embellishes some of its works, making them unique in their genre. So that in his works the ancient and the modern can blend perfectly.
A critical note of art Carla d'Aquino Mineo, president of the Maison d'Art Academy of Padua, writes of her:
... "in his works there is a formal and chromatic elegance in the evocation of a classical taste, while the sign reigns over refined soft values."
