Lonnie has a BA in art and was well into fine art classes balancing her skills.
She lost her passion for oil painting after losing her husband and three elderly dogs before moving to FL in 2008.
Oil mixing and clean up was overwhelming. She was re-inspired finding acrylics at a yard sale. Even more exciting was an alcohol ink class in 2016 and now Ilona only paints multi-media pieces.
Her work is loose, impressionistic, yet often representational.
Having discovered the challenge of alcohol inks she enjoys more freedom.
She is not a one trick pony adhering to one style or subject; which is atypical. There are many ways to envision the mysteries of life and her presentations reveal her vision and her new place in the world.
She went through an artistic metamorphous as her life changed. She re-emerged from oils to acrylics to multi-media with inks, Luminaire acrylics and/or pastels.
