Biography of George Penaloza

George Penaloza was born in Los Angeles 1962. After a few years in Nogales, Az. in 1973 when his mother died, he moved in with his Aunt in Tucson. She provided him with great encouragement and love and urged George to engage in his love of art.
George took art classes at Naylor Middle School, Rincon High and began to take formal courses certifying at Tucson Art Center, and then on to classes at Pima Community College.
He is the resident artist at Romero House Potters where he instructs.
He has competed in the Niche Awards several times and has been a finalist 5 times out of a field of 1400. Three dimensional work expresses George’s imagination best while clay provides the perfect medium to bring the works to life.
