I tend to view art as holistic and inseparable from life. Inspired to gain a better sense of awareness, I've found painting provides, at least, a fictional forum for comprehension.
My most recently completed series deals with reflection, projection, and the hopeful possibilities of a better future. It's a self-motivational speech trying to convince me I can have a career in art. It also decompresses the tumultuous moments of my romantic relationship. It even untangles and embraces all of the feelings associated with the recent loss of my father. Launched by a global pandemic and seen through the lens of Black Lives Matter this work is an honest portrayal of so much more than my personal experiences, it's a snapshot of the current paradigm shift.
