Born in 1947. Araki uses a technique similar to stone rubbing where the shape, engraved inscription and patterns, etc. of a vessel are taken and copied on paper with ink. Araki dips plants in ink and press them on paper to create artworks. He is particularly interested in the beauty and rhythm of the blank space in between and tries to express that in his works. He is also a poet.
