Jim is a self-trained artist who has developed his techniques since grade school where he was the kid in class who drew the fundraiser poster or yearbook designs. Watercolors and oils have been his favorites for landscapes and still lifes, more so oils during the last decade. He specializes in portraits; in particular, a 'slice of life' genre of bigger-than-life characters and family portraits. Dozens of family portraits can be found in the homes of family members and clients, all of whom treasure his work.
