Born in Hokkaido in 1953, Yuko Akiya is a Molding artist. In her works she uses stainless steel, which she became familiar with during childhood days at the factory in her hometown. She cherishes her inspiration, infusing a sense of balance, the aesthetics of blank space and the art of spatial arrangement that she acquired from flower arrangement. She has exhibited her works at art fairs in Germany and Switzerland.
