My visual system is a synthesis of my perception of nature, life and the world.
That world of the tangible and at the same time ephemeral diversity of the forests of Costa Rica that prevails in my plastic proposal that I translate in sensual forms and metaphors.
My gestural and lyric abstract language is as broad as the wind when it blows on the trees, in that constant becoming and getting rid of life.
In my process, the morphologies I portray on the canvas are routes to the freedom of the cosmos and its multidimensional spaces and time, full of color and mysteries to be deciphered.
The colors of nature, the topography of natural territories, the fractalness of rivers, roads and vegetation in front of the movement of light and water, inspire me.
Javier Marten, Undersurface, acrylic on canvas,100 x 133 cm. 2017
Sunlight entering the water may travel about 3,280 feet into the ocean, but there is rarely any significant light beyond 656 feet.
The ocean is divided into three zones based on depth and light level. The uppe 656 feet of the ocean is called or "sunlight," zone.
Javier Marten, Jungle Play, 110x160cm. Acrylic on canvas, 2017.
Warm friendly welcome, relaxing atmosphere is the environment at the jungle in Costa Rica, my homeplace. This painting depicts the depth, the bright colors and the surprises you find there.
Javier Marten, Abstract Topographies, 135x105cm. Acrylic on canvas, 2017.
The detailed mapping or charting of the features of a relatively small area of this abstract landscape, where color, movement and light portray Nature.
Javier Marten, River Play, diptych, acrylic on canvas, 78 x 54 cm. 2017
The fractal scenery of the tropical rivers is a magical repetition of the structure of the Universe we live in.
Javier Marten, Forest Rhapsody, acrylic on canvas, 418 x 130 cm. 2017
This huge painting pretends to expand our view of time, give natural events more space and look for the heartbeats of any forest that keep it all running.
