The artist uses cardboard to create object works in
a similar way to Korean patchwork compositions called Jo-gak-bo.
Having majored in oriental painting, the artist finds cardboard
fascinating since though hard and strong, it is still apt to display
soft feeling of pulp and effectively expresses color.
Out of the individualized shapes and forms of the patchwork,
the artist draws out various scenes of Seoul and the diverse
people living in it. Through the solidly crafted paintings and
the unique transformation of cardboard, the artist describes
everyday life, a familiar town of her memory or of an ideal community.
