Working and living in West Wales has instilled in me a love of the nature of land and sea, its geology, its weather and the complexities of light upon it. My paintings are predominantly in oil; visceral drawings and gestures of something noticed or glimpsed. I try to evoke the most ordinary scenes with grandeur, an evocation of melancholy and drama of light and shade.
