Marlon Mayfield grew up in Nacogdoches Texas where he currently lives. He graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 2005 and then attended Kilgore College where he achieved a Associates of Arts Degree in 2007. Marlon first began to become interested in photography while he was studying at Kilgore College under O. Rufus Lovett. He continued this interest at Stephen F. Austin State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree with a major in Art:Photography and a second major in English. Marlon currently works as a Freelance and Fine Art photographer.
It is the parts of trees I am interested in. They are framed into abstraction and a new existence emerges. A existence where patterns and sculptural forms play with our imaginations. These forms exist in defiance of corrosive forces both natural and unnatural.
