Simon Cardwell, now Sydney based, was born in South Australia. He studied internationally and has become one of Australia’s leading artists working in the field of photography. Cardwell’s early art influences exposed him to strong iconic imagery, a key element in his work which has become part of his own visual and conceptual vocabulary.

The technical and artistic strength of Simon’s style have made him a sought after photographer working in fashion, portraiture, advertising as well as extensively in the film industry but his principal occupation is that of conceptual photographic artist.

Cardwell continues to work extensively with the top fashion houses, advertising agencies and the International and Australian film industry. His work has been commissioned for public spaces and collected by The Australian National Gallery, Western Australia Gallery as well as many private collections.
