Jim Lane

I am a retired high school art instructor, currently celebrating the release of my new e-book titled: Learning to Think Like an Artist. I'm a U.S. Air Force veteran, married, with a son currently serving in the air force. I presently do freelance art work, mostly portraits. In my free time, I'm also a cruise addict, having just returned from our ninth seabourne adventure, this time to northern Europe.

My website is http://www.jimlaneart.com

Portfolio:

The Jim Lane Collection

My work consists of portraits, landscapes, still-lifes, religious subjects, animals, and automobiles in a modern or post-modern style, mostly painted realistically in acrylics or drawn in pecil/colored pencil.

Slopewood 2009 “Slopewood 2009”

A painting within a painting, the framed image bing hung in front of the more general view of our home, a post-modern statement regarding the decisions I made in composing the work as to what to include and what to leave out.

Marina Grande 2011 “Marina Grande 2011”

This painting is one of two based on photos taken a year ago on the Island of Capri featuring the main harbor.

OSU 3 “OSU 3”

This is the third in a series of palette knife paintings of Ohio State University football players.
