Her most recent children’s book is entitled KINDY KITCHEN, written by Jessica Rossman, which she has illustrated, published by Harper Collins. In November 2015.
For the past 15 years she has worked in Sydney as a freelance illustrator and a part time lecturer at the Billy Blue College of Visual Communication, Torrens University.
Her ongoing project is the production of an exhibition based on her interpretation of the poem THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER which will incorporate paintings, 3D narrative sculpture and the published picture book and illustrations, to be exhibited at the Manly Art Gallery, Sydney in December 2017.
This work shows examples from recent exhibitions based on my experiences on an expedition in 2015 to the Sub Antarctic islands (Auckland Islands, Campbell Islands and The Snares) and illustrations for the poem THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, which I have been illustrating for some years. I have been passionately obsessed with this poem for many years because of its visual metaphors, adventure and extravagance. I am illustrating it as an adult picture book.
My work is largely narrative using symbols such as fish and birds and boats to convey the stories. I live and work on a small island in a waterway north of Sydney and feel very connected to the the sea, both above and below. Where I live it is crucial to our safety and well being to pay attention to it, and so, it has become an integral part of my work.
