My name is David Kokhan. I am an mixed media artist, designer and model from Kyiv, Ukraine. Currently based in Kyiv.
My first education was in the field of music- playing the violin. I come from a religious family kind of musicians and entrepreneur. Despite the fact that my occupations was predetermined I realised I want to do something else related to the visual arts.

I studied fashion and textile design at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and completed my BA and MA 2013.

Fashion design has become my starting point in the art world. However, my interest in design was not limited to the creation of clothes associated with practicality.
Possessing conceptual design skills, I analyze and transform the environment, decomposing it into defined pieces, which allows me to create a new design image based on a person.
Applying various artistic techniques, such as batik, textile dyeing, working with other materials and digital technologies altogether gives grandiose opportunities that I want to further study and apply in my works like collections, installations, collages, sculpture or drawings.

The process of creating my artworks is somewhat experimental for me, as it unites various stylistic approaches and solutions, utilizing textile materials, paper, and digital art. The common thread is the combination of elements into a whole, where there is a foundation and filling, and the final result appears in the process of working with the material: from a piece of fabric, plastic, or another digital material. A key advantage in my works is the fusion of knowledge in design with artistic activity.
I also enjoy expressing my passion for architecture, technology, and texture—the tactile qualities of materials—by combining flatness and volume.
I believe that the true essence of creative self-realization lies not only in recognition but also in a deep impact on the surrounding world and on those who engage in their work, striving to become more than just a name; to be a source of inspiration, touching fantasies, thoughts, and souls with my art.
