Kathleen Sartain

I came to mosaic art about 6 years ago. I say I "came" to mosaics but mosaics really came to me. I had worked in Silicon Valley for most of my career. I was a Human Resources consultant. I loved my projects and the people I worked with. No artistic experience was required. That was fine, I didnt think I had any. After I retired I began thinking about mosaics from time to time, but decided to try painting. I began with acrylics and water color. I loved it but it didn't fill my need. Mosaics came into my mind again and I took a class with a wonderful teacher named Margarita Soyfertis. She has become quite well known in the world of mosaics.Mosaics have nurtured my need to be creative. I work in my studio almost every evening. Its my special space to dream about what I want to do next.
