EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN

Painting portraits is something that particularly fascinates people, despite the constant availability of photos and selfies anyway - it is and remains a supreme discipline of painting. Immortalising your own or someone else's face on paper/canvas as a work of art is something very special. Here you can see mainly portraits of women! I have divided them into: ‘Special women’ woven onto an abstract background.

Frida Kahlo “Frida Kahlo”

Frida Kahlo, the famous artist from Mexico, is by far the best-known painter in Mexico, if not Latin America. This colourful painting shows her expressively. The colour scheme does justice to the artist Frida, as she herself painted her pictures in many colours and loved flowers. A unique portrait that emphasises Frida's soul. The special thing about this portrait is the fusion or connection of the background with the motif. This gives the picture a dynamic and unique character. The whole series is conceived in this way. The woman in this painting is part of the series: Special Women.

Amii Stewart “Amii Stewart”

Soul Queen Amii Stewart is an American pop singer (disco + soul), dancer and actress. At the height of the disco wave in the 1970s, Amii Stewart scored a worldwide hit with Knock on Wood.
The picture was painted with artist acrylic colours. Neon colours were also used for the background and some silver paint for the outfit. The dress is magenta coloured. In terms of colour, the painting fits into the wild pop era of the 70s. The special thing about this portrait is the fusion or connection of the background with the subject. This gives the picture dynamism and character of its own.

Wild Girls II “Wild Girls II”

Wild Girls II. is a tribute to all courageous and self-confident women worldwide, and those who want to become one! The two women differ only in skin colour, the one on the right is a black African woman. No matter in which part of the world, women everywhere should have equal rights and be able to live their identity without the constraints of society or religion.
Technique: the background created first is my secret special technique! I painted the motif ‘Wild Girls II’ realistically in detail over the abstract background with acrylic colours. The colours are: Black, brown and gold metallic.

Maria Magdalena “Maria Magdalena”

Mary Magdalene is a person from the Bible and religious history. According to legend, she pursued amorous adventures and led a life of complete sexual freedom. According to legend, Mary Magdalene was considered to be Jesus' companion, even lover, and a prostitute at the time.
The depiction of Mary Magdalene in the painting shows her naked, her arms crossed in front of her upper body and with an absent gaze. Her life, marked by passion, is shown in an abstract background, in fiery colours: orange-red.

Arwen “Arwen”

ARWEN - Queen of the reunited kingdom of Gondor and Arnor in Middle-earth; fantasy, ‘Lord of the Rings’. Arwen was a half-elf and is a fantasy character from literature and film (Lord of the Rings). This means that she had to choose between a life as an Elf or as a mortal human. Out of love, she gave up her immortality and chose the life of a mortal. The special thing about this portrait is the fusion or connection of the background with the subject. This gives the picture dynamism and character of its own. The whole series is conceived in this way. The woman in this painting is part of the series: Special women.

Myrina “Myrina”

The central figure of the painting is the mystical Amazon queen Myrina. Painted in great detail on a special background using my secret technique. Myrina is depicted in the colours blue and dark orange, which shows her war paint. This blue also serves as a contrast to the warrior's dark, warm skin colour. It is a very special motif that looks expressively at the viewer. With a serious but not unfriendly look, determined and self-confident.
The special thing about this portrait is the fusion or connection of the background with the subject. This gives the picture a dynamic and unique character.
