Moritz Gaede studied photography with Raymonde April and Mark Ruwedel in Montreal, Canada and was featured as an emerging artist in 'Le Mois de la Photo à Montreal' 1993. He completed an MFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in 1994.

After several years at Canadian galleries as artist, curator, and director, Gaede moved to Amsterdam in 1999 to launch net.art group drivedrive.com. From 2008 - 2012 he curated a series of exhibitions at Galerie ZK in Berlin, publishing 'Fontaine - Anonymous Art in the Hive Mind' in December 2011.

In October 2015, Gaede presented 'Salon Fontaine' at the Museum of Nonconformist Art, Pushkinskaya Art Center, St. Petersburg. http://salon.io/fontaine
