Elizabeth Sapre was born in England, where she completed some formal education in art. She came to reside in the United States where she began to further develop her ability. Elizabeth has an aptitude for painting figurative work, including portraiture and sculpture.
A woman is seated on a yacht with an arrangement of fruit, vegetables and other objects in the foreground. In the background, there are glimmers of sunset visible in the sky. Some of these colors can be seen in the cushion on the right hand side of the painting. The awning on the upper, left hand side, gives the picture an asymmetrical appearance. In spite of the unstable nature of being in a sailing vessel, a tranquil atmosphere pervades the painting.
