A painter since the age of six, I studied in Venice, Italy, and at the Art Institute of Chicago. My inspiration is from nature. I endeavor to capture the fleeting beauty of flowers, the majesty of old trees, and the melancholy of the waters and buildings of Venice.
This project I started exactly a year ago with the lockdown and masks. The masks reminded me of those worn during the celebration of the Venetian Carnavale--itself canceled by the virus. These works provided me a measure of comfort and hope that the art will last much longer than the covid.
