Iva Troj

2013 Towry Award winner Iva Troj was born in the ancient town of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She started her studies at the local art college at the age of thirteen. She lived and studied in the United States before settling in Sweden, where she now lives and works commuting between UK (where she has her studio) and Scandinavia.

Iva spent some time doing design and illustration for publishers and ad agencies and started her own publishing business in the late 90-s. After working as a design manager for some major corporations, such as Lowe and IBM, she started another company and spent several years working with fashion design. In 2008 she decided to focus on her artwork alongside completing a master degree.

Iva has exhibited at various notable galleries and venues in England and Sweden, including Lloyds Club Gallery in London, Gallery Laveau and Södra Teatern in Stockholm; and also at Gallery Form 5 in San Francisco, United States.
