Kuile, Ter

Ank Ter Kuile lives in Maarn, the Netherlands.

She studied art in Enschede en Amsterdam, the Netherlands and in Paris, France.

Her paintings and drawings tell a personal story, evoke a unique atmosphere, and possess a distinctive character.
These characteristics are expressed in the manner in which Ank composes each painting, treating it as an individual puzzle.
She uses her imagination and emotions as a guide to select and combine the right puzzle pieces. Each contrast, each accentuated detail, each colour and each shape is part of the whole.
‘’We are failing to see the forest for the trees.’’ Excess confuses. Clutter creates chaos.
Her paintings create clarity and facilitate enjoyment by illuminating the essence.

Ank presents personal impressions of countries and their people and their animals by using mixed technique and material and newspapers from the country concerned.
All this combined forms a unique portrait.

Portrets from humans and animals

Her paintings and drawings tell a personal story, evoke a unique atmosphere, and possess a distinctive character.

The various techniques help her to approach this even more.

Portraits of animals usually have a sketchy character. The drawing is the basis for the dyed details.
