Hommage a Samuel van Hoogstraten

At the end of 2012 I started a series on various paintings, changing the content of the image but keeping the essence of the form. For example, while using the composition I changed the trompe l’oeil ‘Feigned Letter Rack with Writing Implements’ by 17th century painter Samuel van Hoogstraten into nudes.

Ignudi

Fascinated by the way Michelangelo works with his models and perspective I started the series ‘Ignudi’ based on his frescoes in the Sistine chapel. I do not intend to recreate the figures of the Sistine Chapel, it’s a modern reflection by an artist on the works of a colleague. An analysis on angle, a study on composition and perspective distortion.
