Özlem Akin is a doll artist and a filmmaker from Turkey, based in Prague, Czech Republic. She was granted her bachelors degree with her award winning first puppet film „gemeinschaft“ in Istanbul and moved to Zlin to study traditional animation. She started making dolls during her studies, developing similar techniques she uses for making stop motion puppets.
As well as making dolls and films, she’s also teaching doll / puppet making and animation workshops.
For her dolls, she is working mainly with polymer clay, but keeps exploring new materials and techniques.
