From a young age, Central American born artist Fabrizio Cruz knew he needed to express how he saw light, color and shapes in the world around him. The very first canvas he used was the train from his mother's wedding dress and as a result, he was entered into a children's art contest where he won 1st Place and received a scholarship to continue studying at the Centro Cultural de Bellas Artes in Guatemala City. Since relocating to South Florida, Fabrizio has participated in various gallery showings including the Local Talents Exhibition at the Broward County Main Library and ArtServe. In 2000 he was chosen by City Link Magazine as one of the "Best of 2000" in the Artist Category and currently he is one of the artists represented by the prestigious Bellagio International Gallery.

For Fabrizio, the entire process from idea to sketch, building a frame and stretching the canvas brings excitement and satisfaction. Working with various materials - acrylics, modeling paste, wood, fabric, sand, pebbles, leather - has allowed him to develop an eye for differences in movement, flow and value culminating in a trademark style with strong texture and vivid colors. His influences include Salvador Dali, Amedeo Modigliani, Kandinsky, Munch, and Klimt resulting in a technique which blends Expressionism and Surrealism.
