My father Late Sri Muktipada Banerjee was himself a great artist. He worked under the guidance of legendary artists like - Abanindra Nath Thakur, Naandalal Basu, Binod Bihari Mukherjee and Ramkinkar Bej. I was fortunate to receive my preliminary tutorage from my father who followed Indian style of painting before receiving formal training in Fine Arts in Western style from Government Art College, Teacher's Training and Art appreciation course from Calcutta University, Post Diploma in Fine Arts from Kalabhavan Shantiniketan. I was truly blessed to be inspired and guided by the likes of eminent artists namely Bikash Bhattacharya, Isha Muhammad, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Ganesh Halui and K.G. Shubramanium ( Manida), Niranjan Pradhan and many others. So you will find both essence of Indian and Western style in my painting and drawing.
