I taught myself to draw during a period of depression and was delighted to be offered Art Therapy as part of my treatment.
Art has given me a whole new world of creativity and expression that I never dreamed possible.
I facilitate an Art and Drawing group jointly, through this I have made many friends and seen many remarkable achievements.
I organise Art Exhibitions to raise awareness, reduce stigma and raise funds for local Mental Health Charities.
I love watercolour pencil and pastel.
I told myself that if I was going to be any type of Artist that I would have to learn to draw well. I am still learning and encouraging others.
Isn't it hard to draw?
Well I maintain there are only two types of lines, straight ones and curved ones, if you can do them the rest is all practice. O.K it is not quite true but it's a start!
This is an inspirational lady who I met briefly at a Business Conference. She is the founder of the MOBO awards, the Musicians Of Black Origin. She can speak calmy and intellectually and you cannot avoid listening to her.

I saw this picture or a girl looking at Matisse's Snail and felt Matisse drawing us into a vortex of the Snails spirit

I had only been drawing for a year when I started to paint. It was a steep struggle but with encouragement from friends some of whom are professional Artists and Illustrators, I found a beginning. I tell people that I improve a little with each painting and occasionally make a larger step. Practice Practice Practice!

Mum asked me to paint a cat picture, I chose a kitten as they are always the cutest and I wanted to show her dreaming of chasing balls of wool
The image has the letter of the words Mental Illness all jumbled up. This represents how it feel to try and communicate through serious mental illness, for both parties. You do not always need an answer, you just need someone to listen and be there for you.
I am fascinated by Crop Circles, I know most are fake, if not all. They are all art, I decided to use Blue and Yellow rather than the shades of green to make it pop out.
Gouache combines some of the advantages of watercolour and the speed of Acrylic but is better for large flat areas like cartoons but only on paper
I like Roy Lichstenstein so much, he tells a whole story, I changed an advert into a tale

Allenton landmark christened spider island as the four way roundabout has 4 legs each of which spilt into walkway and pram-path giving it 8 legs.
