Walden Swank

ABOUT THE ARTIST WALDEN SWANK

Born in Kansas and moved to Colorado in the 40's, Walden studied art at the Colorado Institute of Art and formed his own Advertising art firm, Design Studios, Inc. After retiring from commercial art & design in 1995, he studied painting and drawing at the Art Students League of Denver.

He has been published in Southwest Art Magazine and has work in many private collections as well as Johns Manville and Motorola Corp.

His awards include a Best in Show, Purchase Award, Gold Medal and countless 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mentions.

My work is a dialogue between the loose spontaneity of a plein aire watercolor and the most painstaking and loving study of an egg tempera.
