Art by Kusum is the art of celebration – An award-winning British artist of Indian origin, Kusum grew up in London and is a self-taught artist. It was at the age of 7 that she first exhibited her artwork, taking her first commission at 12 years from a professional photographer. Her growing international client base includes high profile international Law firms, doctors, interior designers and private collectors, including actors, musicians and sports personalities.
“Inspired by my travels around the world and deep spirituality, I find myself mesmerised by effervescent and vibrant colours, cultures, sounds and motion, my paintings are an adventure of self-discovery. Dreams are often the starting point to my painting and my exhilarating journey transcends to a more subconscious meditative state. I work to create images which express in form the subtle yet vivid moods of nature, images which call forth the entire range of human emotional aliveness. I breathe life onto a blank canvas, expressing perspectives that bring freshness to the familiar, harmoniously creating art that evokes emotions via abstract expressionism, figurative and portraitures. Aesthetic and sensual experiences are expressed onto my canvas, adorning it using texture and an intoxicating blend of colour, thus creating originality and uniqueness in form. Both abstract and portrait work is beyond 4D, using colour to heal, shift moods and uplift by dipping my brush into my soul and painting my own energy and being onto canvas.
