Artist Bio

Cowboy boots, camping and cold beer. Three things that brought Dianna Fritzler great joy in her younger years while attending the University of Wyoming in Laramie. At an altitude of 7,500 feet, Dianna was propelled into the world of black & white photography while studying Journalism. This obsession sequestered her to the darkroom on many a windy Wyoming winter night. Watching images “magically” appear in the developer was like opening gifts on Christmas morning. Thus began her love of art.
She diligently began her public relations career on the day after she graduated and hauled her meager belongings and her starry-eyed wonder to the Mile High City of Denver, CO. After three years, however, the excitement wore off and one night after a couple of cocktails at a smoky bar in Cherry Creek, Dianna dropped a bombshell and eagerly asked her best friend if she’d go to New Zealand with her. Being the adventurer she was, her friend answered, “Sure. But only if we can go to Europe too.” What the heck?! And thus their journey of a lifetime began. With a sturdy backpack (affectionately named Tyron) one change of clothing, very little money and no clue about other cultures, Dianna and her steadfast friend traipsed around the globe for a year, absorbing every art and architectural highlight available. Their friend, the ever talented and funny Scott Fraser (master of contemporary realism), led them through the museums of Italy and Greece, filling them with art history and insights. The courtship began. Art and Fritzler were officially dating.
After landing back in Denver (dressed as a Christmas present for her mother.) Fritzler fell back into the world of marketing plans, advertising copywriting and media schedules and eventually married (a cowboy of course), started a family and opened an advertising/PR firm in Denver, CO with two of her marketing buddies. After several challenging, but successful, years, she sold her portion of the advertising agency and joyfully moved with her family near the towering red rocks of the National Monument in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Fritzler continued to delight in her photography, but after the only darkroom available to the public closed, she transferred her artistic “voice” to oil painting, mixed media and encaustic creations.
She is now a bliss-filled, full-time artist painting daily in her never-in-a-million-years-think-I’d-have-this studio nestled in the wine country of Palisade, CO. She is overwhelmed with gratitude that people across the globe have chosen to collect her creations.
When speaking of her art, Fritzler says, “I am fascinated by shape, line and color and celebrate them through my paintings. Creating art is the nucleus of serenity for me. When I paint, I retreat into the profound journey of living in the moment with complete awareness, acceptance and joy. My ultimate goal is to share that feeling with others.”
