Inner Child

After many decades of being a professional artist, I had fallen out of love with painting. It can be tricky to keep the passion going, when art becomes your business. I knew that being an artist had always been my dream and that it was my life’s purpose, but that I somehow needed to re-connect with my inner child, the one who loves to play.

As a little girl, I would spend hours with coloured felt tips and was in love with nature and wildlife.

I recently invested in some acrylic paints and acrylic pens and played, bringing in all the colours and the subjects that have forever been close to my heart and, this new collection of artwork is the result.

I hope you feel the same joy my inner child has felt when you look at these paintings and that they may bring joy into your living space.

Magical Wonder I “Magical Wonder I”

In creating this piece, I immersed myself in a world where nature’s mysteries come alive, blending expressionism with surreal touches. The vibrant acrylics dance across the canvas, evoking a dreamlike tranquility. Every brushstroke invites wonder, and the interplay of colors suggests a narrative beyond the visible, a celebration of the ethereal essence of the natural world. This artwork is a portal to a realm of enchantment, promising to infuse any space with the magic of an everlasting spring

Magical Wonder II “Magical Wonder II”

In this vibrant fusion of expressionism and surrealism, I’ve employed enthusiastic acrylic strokes to evoke a sense of wonder within an enchanted forest. Every color and shape is a testament to nature’s dreamlike beauty, a symphony designed to exhilarate the soul. Its presence aims to infuse your space with imagination and a dance of mystical energies that invigorates the heart and delights the eye

Letting Go “Letting Go”

This joyful and uplifting painting was inspired by a beautiful pilgrimage across Dartmoor this Autumn. Look out for the magical stream, the kingfisher looking for fish, the crows in the dark skies, the woodpecker and little robin on a branch.

The trees let go of their leaves at this time of year and encourage us to learn from them and let go of what no longer serves us…

May this image light up your space with colour and joy!

Down By The River “Down By The River”

My favourite place to be is at my local river where I have seen the kingfisher and the fox and heard the hoot of the owl and the song of the birds. It is a place I can be present, calm and connected to my inner bliss.

I hope you feel this too.
