I paint with oil paint in the fine painting technique.
The technique I use used to be further refined by the Dutch schools, and now the modern materials make it possible to create a contemporary look.

Inspiration

My art aims to reflect the intimate connection with Source and the deepening experience of spiritual awakening. Fascinating is the contrast between my inner journey: “who am I” and the seductive dream world that I try to create at the same time alongside the everyday theme. Creating imaginary worlds for oneself and others is of unprecedented value.
I get my inspiration from the spiritual journeys that I have made alone through India and Nepal. In these countries I have been to the most beautiful locations and I have had meaningful contact with the population, nature and culture. I have experienced pure harmony in India and Nepal, an intense experience. You could call my work fantastic realism. In my paintings I try to combine the realistic, the fantastic and the loving. Influence on my work are the great artists: Alice Buis, Ellen Lorièn and Johfra. My paintings invite you to wander with your eyes, in a colorful world to undergo a spiritual experience.

How I work

From a deeper layer of consciousness I receive one or more images into my representation, which I then 'focus' as I call it. I do this by looking for elements that clarify that image. To give shape to this I make a sketch and the idea is written down. After collecting texture, pictures and photos, a new painting is created. I put all collected photos and parts in a photo program and make a nice composition of it, until it represents my image. On the basis of this digital composition I make a painting. Technique, style and working method are very important here. In my paintings I try to combine the realistic, the fantastic and the loving.

Journey home “Journey home”

Oil on panel, 30 x 50 cm.

Last year I traveled through Nepal, a beautiful country. I walked for a few days through the annapurna ranche, a very nice trip along the local people and the beautiful nature and mountain peaks of the Himalayas. I stayed in several villages including Ghandruk. A very old village of hundreds of years old. The people here live in the mountains and speak their own language, gurung language. It can only be reached on foot, no roads, no traffic. I was very impressed with life here. It was as if I had entered the last century.....
That's how I met rajkumari gurung, she is 85 years old and speaks her own language: gurung. Also the clothes she wears is traditional gurung clothes.
I have pictured her here with the Himalayas in the background and the source of the holy river Ganges. It is important for every Hindu to visit the Himalayas and the Ganges once in your life

Devotion “Devotion”

oil on panel, 60 x 80 cm.
The idea of my painting arose from the travels I made through India and Nepal. I was very closely involved with the people and the faith, and was very impressed by the rituals in which small offerings such as flowers, incense or food are presented to a symbolized cult image, such as the Himalayas, Ganges, images of gods, temples etc. This is done daily, with great dedication. You feel the powerful energy that is released and flows through you. Very special to experience. In this way rituals inspire us to live more consciously, to become better people and to make a valuable contribution to the world around us. A number of these elements have been combined in this painting.

Boundless “Boundless”

Oil on panel, 60 x 80 cm.

This painting was painted in 2016 after reading many books about consciousness. We sometimes focus so much on the goal or destination that we forget the way there. We lose touch with every valuable step. Because we are 'not there yet', stress arises. But it's not about what's missing or what steps are next. It's about now. So even if you have no idea where to go, that's totally okay. Embrace that uncertainty, doubt or unrest. Such a place without answers is actually very lively, creative and full of potential. More and more I realize that it is wonderful to let go of your limiting inner patterns, thoughts and convictions, and to be able to live truly free from the heart. To be able to make your choices from unconditional love, your inner strength, and pure self. Choices that support yourself and lead yourself step by step to more freedom. Life without limits. The more limitless we feel ourselves, the more we feel we are truly alive. And that is the idea of the painting without borders.

The message “The message”

Oil on panel, 120 x 80

The idea for this painting arose during my trip through India. I wanted to discover who I am, without everything else. I left everything behind and left for India to get in touch with my deepest feelings. Because I was completely gone, from my familiar surroundings, I learned to listen to my inner voice. It has given me a lot of clarity and that has never gone away. I learned in every situation where you don't know what to do, you have to listen to that inner voice, your feeling. This painting shows that the message is received. The woman thinks, she doesn't remember for a moment and then suddenly the messenger brings her a message. That's when we trust our intuition, listening to the inner voice. In this painting the messenger is portrayed in a male angel, but the messenger can be 'anything'. A 'feeling' enters where you know (also called the feeling or stimulus) what is depicted in the painting as a male angel.
