Najeebah Al-Ghadban, born in Kuwait and currently residing in New York City, is an image-maker caught between scissor and paper; often found trying to reconcile the absurdity of existence, the deluge of human emotion, and the spine of the intangible.
Najeebah is currently a practicing designer with a BFA and MFA from the School of Visual Arts.
A White Asylum is an exploration of the human psyche through collage and assemblage. Each portrait paints, in sculptural detail, the discordance between expressions of heart and entrapment of mind. Relying on shadow and light to capture the faces, bodies, and hands of the lovers, the alone and often, the anti-heroes.
