In creating The Weeper, Mathieu Isabelle, the artist, is denouncing human tendency to choose the wrong path.
Ego, the destructing human engine, too often leads people to choose dishonesty, violence, selfishness, lust for power, revenge, and many other behaviours to which The Weeper is expressing his desolation towards human ignorance. A denunciation in the hopes of awakening a new kind of behaviour.

The bull is a symbol of strength, courage and power, it goes through life taking its rightful place and seems unwavering.
Although the bull is not feminine, its symbolism is a tribute that Mathieu paid to his wife, saluting her eagerness and strength of character, which is why the work is named after her initials.
