I define my works as paintings inspiring peace and love even momentarily when they are watched. I tried to add pictural tastes and senses in my works by using possibilities of batik technique. My aim is to melt this technique in the painting and transfer it to another dimension with color, stain and line tastes just like in painting art. I love harmonious movements of lines. I believe that I could connotate it with wax batik technique. My concern is to express different tastes and colors of the city, where I live, using a poetic language. To fictionalize uncorrupted things in my childhood with my expressions instead of corrupted things …

Batik is an Eastern rooted art that has continued its existence until today. It is also an folk art in China, Japan, Java, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Pakistan. The best results can be obtained with the use of thin silk. Batik is used by Turks in Central Asia and called ‘Yazma’ that we see it on ornamental fabrics.
My works are made with “Waxy Batik” on raw silk. Waxy batik is a technic that is applied with wax and paraffin. The design are drawn on silk fabric and then is tamboured. When the painting stage started, home-made powder fabric dyes are boiled and waited for cooling. The silk is sopped in cooled dye and taken out to provide the rest of the fabric which is not colored to be dyed. The silk is tamboured pulley again and this process lasts until the last dye is applied. At the final stage, the silk is purified from wax by ironing after putting detail paper on it. All works seen here are the result of the application of this technic.
