Born in Seville, Isilla exhibited a natural talent for the arts from a young age, particularly painting, graphic design, and photography. However, a theft that left her without her camera, an essential tool for her artistic expression, plunged her into a deep crisis.
Driven by guilt and a desire for a fresh start, Isilla moved to Scotland where she began a new life dedicated to caring for people with disabilities. Despite this radical change, photography remained an important part of her, albeit relegated to the background.
It was during her pregnancy that Isilla's creativity was reborn with vigor. The experience of motherhood led her to deep introspection and reconnected her with her passion for art. Upon returning to photography, she developed a unique and personal style, characterized by sensual, surreal images, laden with symbolism, where she explores female beauty and nature in a profoundly moving way.
My black and white photographs are a visual exploration of the abstract and the surreal. By manipulating light and form, I create images that challenge traditional perceptions and invite viewers to question their own understanding of reality.
