This sculpture consists of a 4.5" tall, four sided stepped pyramid with a hidden recess holding a 1.5" standard brass central cube. It's a puzzle to open, a puzzle to build and has an optional 1.5" central vault for hiding something small.
I used mostly copper on this sculpture but also some brass, bronze, aluminum, stainless steel and titanium for contrasting coloration.
Pleasingly rounded edges allow pleasant contact with each of the 36 elements with 22 unique geometric metal shapes shown above. For added coloration and puzzle complexity, some of the pieces are composed of 2 different metals dowel pinned permanently together.
