Oil painter, Akiko Amari was born in Tokyo in 1943. She submits works every year as a member of the Nichiyoukai. Painting mostly nudes, her works include the Costume series. Amari works from a live model once a week, does preliminary sketches, and always continually strives towards self improvement. She expresses the human form with primary attention given to space.
