Sigurborg studied at the Danish Design school (Danmarks Designskole) Graduated from the drawing and graphic art department 1987.
Haystack Mountain school of  Crafts , Maine U.S.A. Course in artists books 1990. (scholarship from the Icelandic American foundation).
A six weeks course in japanese woodcarving in Japan 2001 ( scholarship from the japanese goverment ).
Teacher at the Iceland Academy of the arts 1989-2011.
Member of the icelandic artist union SÍM.
