Katie has been experimenting with acrylics for several years, independently as well as in workshops in BC and Ontario. Painting became a priority in Montreal, where she joined The Longhaul studio artists. The acrylic paintings suggest atmosphere and emotions associated with specific locales. Current works include the recent exhibition Skyviews, a geographical series which attempt to convey climate, and geography through colour, depth and detail, employing the vigorous application of paint.
Katie is an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a member of North Van Arts and the West Vancouver Community Arts Council. Katie provides branding and graphic design services for a number of organizations. She has volunteered at the MacDonald Stewart Art Centre, Kamloops Art Gallery and the Visual Arts Centre of Clarington and currently lives in North Vancouver, BC.
