Eric Odartey Cruickshank,professionally known as “lines being “ is a versatile and self taught artist born in Accra,Ghana in the year 2000. Currently (2020) a student of Odorgono Senior High School offering Visual arts as a course.He developed the aptitude and creativity for the execution of everyday contemporary art and works in various media’s ranging from wet to dry.
Being a celebrated and an award winning hyper-realistic artist,a contemporary artist and a conceptual artist aims with great achievements and titles. Notable amongst his awards is the “Best Unique Talent ,WTB awards ” initiated by high school Tv. Amongst his artworks are famous people example is a portrait of the late Kofi Annan.
He aims at projecting black identity worldwide through the use of lines in his art pieces. Every line according to Eric tells him something distinctive ,be it thick ,straight,curve wavy,spiral or even faint and broken. He believes that there’s a strong relation between lines and human figures as the insights and idea originated from the line patterns on the palm which symbolizes identity and tree backs . Lines do express mood and feelings.
Amongst his role models and mentors in the art world is Amoako Boafo- a Ghanaian contemporary artist based in Vienna,Austria.
These works were created to project blackness worldwide.The works have a unique quality which is the creative lines running throughout the body.This lines stands for identity(eg.thumbprint) , so I try to involve it into my works for recognition of me.

The work “Quarantine “is made to educate the general public to take the precautionary measures from the World Health Organization and the Ghana Health Service seriously to avoid the spread of the virus. So that at the end of this pandemic, we will be free again.
The nose mask represents the safety precautions from the health service. We should take the precautions very seriously because that is one way to avoid the spread of this invisible virus. Washing our hands regularly and entertaining the use of hand sanitizers, avoiding handshakes and so on is the right way to defeat this virus.
The background also represents being indoors to avoid any inconveniences. If you don't have any relevant thing to do outside, just stay inside and stay safe.
Many will be wondering why the nakedness. The nakedness is a sign of freedom or being free from the virus.
You see, when we all abide by the safety precautions, thus staying indoors, washing our hands with soap under running water, using hand sanitizers, social distancing and the others, and above all, looking up to GOD and asking him to forgive us and heal the land, we will surely overcome this virus and be free again.
