Hailing from Detroit and its suburbs, Ruth Egnater comes from a family filled with artists including her mother. She doesn’t remember a life without art. When younger, she spent her summers teaching survival, white water canoeing and hiking and camping skills. With 15 years of experience in printmaking and a diverse skill set spanning painting, jewelry making, and multimedia projects, her artistic journey is rich and varied. Ruths work often centers around animals, nature, and women. Most of her prints are limited edition and narrate a unique story behind every image.
Ruth is currently working on a group of heroines she calls “non-essential heroes”. Every print has a story and she plans to use the images for a book.
This is a group of non-essential superheroines. This is an ongoing subject for my prints.
