Lanny Roff

I am a 75 year old traditional artist who works in oils. I am self-taught and have been painting off and on for about 50 years. Have sold many paintings in the past. Since I live in Tennessee, USA I am a member of the Tennessee Artists Association. I started painting I earnest in the 1970s while living in England. I attempt to pattern myself on the 19th century French Impressionists. I believe I am heavily influence by several contempory British artists of the 1970s.

I attempted to create a pairing of a typical small English village inNorth Yorkshire, UK. I used several,photos I took while living there and this is a conglomerate of some of them.

I moved to Tennessee last year and was immediately taken by the beautiful landscape. So, after living here for a couple of months I painted my rendition of the sun setting over these beautiful mountains.
