I studied in South Wales and moved to London. I have been painting portraits and life painting for many years , painting murals and gold leafing for clients.
Five years ago I moved to Suffolk and was immediately captivated by the landscape. I have been obsessively painting the skies and landscapes throughout the changing seasons.
I would like people to be uplifted by my work and to remember it.
I am influenced by the German expressionists for their colours and composition also their brushwork. I do not want my work to look laboured , I try to get a sense of immediacy in my work.
Most importantly it is about drawing with paint , mark making.
