Stephen Garan'anga is a multi faceted visual artist and arts writer. he has been an international exhibiting artist for a couple of decades with rewards in form of awards in the various media he uses including sculpture, painting and graphics. THE WELDED SCULPTURE IS A DEPICTION OF A FAMOUS LITTLE HORMAN WHO WAS SAVED BY HIS HUGE ARABIAN STALLION WHEN THE REST OF HIS FELLOW HORSMEN WERE MASSACRED BY A RIVARY HORSEMEN GANG WHEN THEY ENCROUCHED INTO THEIR TERRITORY HUNTING IN THE EARLY HOURS BEFORE DAWN.
FOUR OF THE MOST DEADLIEST SCORPIONS IN THE WORLD WITH LETHAL TOXINS TO HUMANS ARE FOUND IN AFRICA AND ONLY SIX SPECIES IN THE WHOLE WORLD ARE LETHAL TO HUMANS AND ARE NOT WIDE-SPREAD OR COMMONLY SEEN. BUT THE SIGHT OF SCORPIONS INSTALL EXTREME FEAR IN MANY. THIS IS AN INTERPRETATION INSPIRED BY THE SIGHT OF A HUGE SCORPION THAT STUNG A VISITING FEMALE ARTIST AT NIGHT DURING OUR ORGANISED INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS’ WORKSHOP IN THE OUTSKIRTS OF HARARE.
