Tina Koufas-eisbacher

I have been an artist/educator for many years. As a high school art teacher/Dept. Chair, I successfully developed and taught 2 art programs at 2 Pinellas County high schools: Jewelry & Photography (analog & digital). My Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree is from Western Carolina University. I attended the University of South Florida for my Certification In Art Education and also worked toward my Masters. I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and live in Largo, Florida. I recently retired and am heavily involved in Greyhound Adoption & Rescue, and am an active member of FLSARC (Florida State Animal Response Coalition). I have been working in analog color photography since 2005 and developed a darkroom technique using transparencies to create ghostly figures that are at the very center of my work. There is no digital manipulation used in my work. The issues I address are very important and personal to me and are the drivers of my artwork. My photography deals with civilization's end on earth and the aftermath. Pandemic, Plague, Nuclear War, Pollution, Animal Extinction... they are very real possibilities.
